Roof Garden at The Met

On a September morning I spent a quiet moment taking in the view of the city from the top of the Roof Garden at The Met. How does one photograph this to bring any of its beauty justice? I wasn't quite sure but I do know that sometimes no matter how much you wish that moment can be captured by the click of your shutter button, it can only be captured so perfectly by the human eye and live within your memory so vividly.

The Beauty of the Woman Form

It was one of the best Sundays I've had in a long time: a quiet morning spent at The Met admiring the sculptures in the American Wing. There is something so sensual about these sculptures of women. Maybe it’s the way their hands are placed so gently on the curve of their neck or the detailed draping of the fabric on their breast. To me these sculptures of women are the definition of how we should embrace our bodies today: with confidence and awareness.

A Day in NYC

My beau and I took a red-eye flight to NYC and once we landed we were operating on roughly two hours of sleep. I thought for sure I'd be tired and needed more sleep once we reached our hotel; however, to my surprise I was alert and wide awake. Once we were in Midtown my mind was trying to absorb everything around me: working men and women rushing to the office, taxis speeding their way to the next open lane, cafes filled with people trying to get a cup of coffee and then there were those just like us trying to get a taste of the city strolling through the hustle and bustle (still hesitant to j walk) with fresh new eyes on the city. The energy in New York is like no other. I felt so physically small standing in the middle of it all but so alive by the energy I was being fed in this city. I was happy to be there and ready to embark on an adventure that I was hoping would bring much inspiration and drive.

More photos and stories on New York City to follow but for now, a day in NYC through my simple 35mm camera...

Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's

love, youalove, youalove, youalove, youalove, youalove, youalove, youa
One of my favorite things to photograph is window displays. There’s no directing necessary, the lights are placed appropriately to accentuate the products and the story telling has been thought out and constructed ready for your take on it with your vision – it’s every photographer’s dream shoot. Bergdorf is absolutely one of my favorite windows to shoot. It’s so visually stimulating! Each time I stand back to look at it, I discover something new. It amazes me. I hope I was able to do Bergdorf justice.

Hello September!

The beau and I just returned home from NYC. We had such a wonderful time and I can't wait to share our adventures through photographs here in the next few days.
For now, here are some photographs I took of pink roses dancing in the light during a beautiful August afternoon...
