Happy Valentine's Day

My beau and I just celebrated our three year anniversary at the end of January and being that Valentine's Day is early February, we've had to figure out what to do with back to back celebrations. Typically we dine out on our anniversary and the beau prepares us a meal at home on Valentine's Day to avoid the crowds. His meals are equally delicious compared to restaurants... well, I'd say better but I'm bias!

For Valentine's Day here are my favorite pasta restaurants I frequent and think are amazing!

New York

I can't lie, with all the fun and beautiful New York Fashion Week photos on my instagram feed I'm wishing I was there more so than... here. So today I spent some time looking through my archives and pulled photos of New York City from the last trip I took. Here's to New York. I'll see you soon...

Up Close

I'm so glad I got around to seeing Martin Schoeller's "Close Up" exhibit at the EMP. From afar some of the photos look like cartoon drawings instead of photographs. The ones that moved me the most were of the people from the villages. You can feel emotions pour through the images by the tears in their eyes and the scars on their faces; this made me want to know more about their life story. I highly recommend checking it out.

... And for some fun reading, the WSJ recently wrote an article on how to capture the perfect portrait if you're interested in learning a few tips.

Brunch At Home

I love weekends with no real agenda. It allows me to wake up slow, make breakfast and lounge around in my PJs. Usually I do this alone because I would hate to have anyone eat what I cook but I have to say, I've been working on this cooking thing and it's coming along. Inspired by the delicious baked eggs I love at Tilikum Cafe and The Fat Hen I decided to try it at home. I didn't follow a recipe, I just threw together ingredients available in my frig and I'd have to say it wasn't too bad.
