Here Comes the Bride

What a fun and exciting time for my little sister who will be getting marry this August. A few weekends ago we spent a Sunday afternoon dress shopping with her entire bridal party. It was fun for us but a little overwhelming for my sister because each dress she tried on just didn't feel 100% right. Although she was feeling that way, you wouldn't have been able to tell. She looked gorgeous in every dress she tried on...
PS - Today is also her birthday... Happy Birthday, Sis! xo

What's in My Bag

Every girl who has a blog has done a 'what's in your bag' post. Today I am cleaning my purse and jumping on the bandwagon. Aside from loose change and receipts this is typically what's in my bag. I've been carrying my Michel Kors tote every where for the past year or so and I love it to pieces. It's the same size as the Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag and it can carry so much stuff! Here's what in my bag...
PS - I'm selling my Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag in the damier azur print. If you're interested, please email me - loveyouablog@gmail.com.

Date Night

It's been awhile since our very first date but I can clearly remember the emotions I was going through - I was so excited, I was straight up giddy like a little school girl! I remember carefully planning several outfits in my head and reading too much into what message each outfit would send you. When the day came, I spent several hours getting ready... carefully doing my hair, lining my eyes, and curling my lashes so I can bat them at you. Today nothing has changed much really... except now I can kiss you after our date.

Bridesmaid Dress

I'm so happy for my sister who just got engaged this past summer. After a few months of informing family and friends, the planning of the big day is beginning. This past weekend we went shopping for my sister's wedding dress. Although we were mistaken as twins growing up, my sister and I could not be any more different. She is the girl next door, always considered as 'one of the guys', played sports all her life and she participates in fantasy football!!! Her style is simplistic and romantic... and she is nothing close to a bridezilla, thank goodness!

As I was waiting for my sister in between trying on dresses, I checked out the bridesmaid dresses and unfortunately, I didn't see anything I really liked or care for. Because my sister is so chill, she's okay with her bridesmaid picking a dress that flatters their body as long as the colors are consistent.. so not a bridezilla right? I've photographed a few bridal fashion shows in the last three years so after no luck at the bridal boutiques, I came home and looked through my archive of photos and ran across this bridesmaid dress. I love the lace on this dress, the pleating on the bodice and the cinch waist. What do you think...?

Black and White

...my two favorite color combo. It's so easy to wear and accessorizing with something as simple as a faux fur shawl collar keeps it from getting boring...

happy weekend...

BFF

If there was a perfect way to meet my BFF this would have been it. I was shooting a fashion show at the Braven in Bellevue when I met Blake through a mutual friend. With her hair pin up in a big bun and dressed all posh in black she had sauve that would make any girl want to be her BFF. Needless to say we became instant friends and Blake invited me to a fashion show she was going to the following day. That next day we met up, had brunch, attended the fashion show, had another meal, watch a movie and went to happy hour. We ended up spending that entire day together. Our friendship developed quickly and naturally... I think a lot of it had to do with our love for fashion, food, champagne and girl time. When we were together we had the best time ever, we laughed a lot, dressed up for every occasion and loved exploring the city. Sadly about two years ago Blake moved back to South Cali and I've missed her dearly...

This past weekend Blake was in town visiting. We recapped how we met to my beau and the funny thing was we both went straight to the most important part - what we were wearing. We were so excited as we tried to recall all the details of our outfits that day. We spent most of the weekend reliving our good old days and I'm still paying for our late nights but it was so worth it.

Do you have a Blake in your life?

My Dress Size

Taken at Sweetie Boutique on March 29, 2012

Lately I've been thinking about the relationship weight I've put on since falling in love with my beau... mostly thoughts around how the heck did two dress sizes come about without me noticing. For starters, (uh oh I’m talking like a five course meal is on its way, bad sign), we celebrate everything – it’s sunny, let’s go to happy hour; it’s Friday, let’s go get drinks; it’s summer, let’s bbq and you get the idea. We also drink a lot of wine and champagne as enthusiasts of life. Lately I’ve been trying to cut back on such celebratory events limiting those to truly exciting moments. Unfortunately, I have not been successful at all. I am celebrating something almost daily.

This coming December and January we will be celebrating our 2nd year anniversary in Australia and this is something I definitely want to get in shape for; however, I’ve come to the realization that a good time for a ‘diet’ may never come with my overly enthusiastic self. Life is just too wonderful to pass on good wine or skip out on a toast to being happy so instead I’m going to work out just a little harder, dance a little longer and enjoy all of life’s great moments to come...

Cheers!

Hairritable

hair·ri·ta·ble /he(ə)iritəbəl/
Adjective: Being annoyed or made upset by one's own hair.

Yes, this word is completely made up by yours truly! Back in spring I had this grand idea to chop off five inches of hair thinking I'd wake up every morning looking like Carrie Bradshaw circa season four. I've yet to experience such a day! Short hair is so hard to maintain and it's given me the worse bedhead of my life. I have to wake up an extra 15 minutes to put some curls in it or blow it out flat. For someone who is not a morning person, 15 minutes is a lot of time (reference Inception dream time).

I'm sure every girl gets hairritable at some point or time right?

What makes you hairritable?
